  1. Insufficient study programmes for waste management and circular economy in the MENA region
  2. Gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application
  3. Lack of skilled personnel for the public and private sector

Our Solution

The project set up a network between four universities from the MENA region and three universities from Germany. Together, the partners developed an online study programme on integrated solid waste management and circular economy to transfer knowledge on state-of-the-art solutions. The online lectures, called "Wastiepedia", are availabe on Hamburg Open Online University.
