Scaling Insect Farming Webinar: Practical Experiences from BSF Practitioners
Join us for a dynamic and practice-oriented webinar exploring Black Soldier Fly (BSF) production across Africa, hosted by the PREVENT Waste Alliance and the BSF Community of Practice of over 800 members, as part of the BUGS project component funded by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).
This session is not another technical overview — it’s a hands-on exchange between two operational companies on opposite sides of the African continent, sharing insights, challenges, and lessons from the field.
We’ll be joined by:
🔹 Living Soils from West Africa
🔹 Chanzi Group company from East Africa
Together, they’ll discuss:
🔸 Core operations – Centralized vs. decentralized production
🔸 Scale – How much waste they’re processing and the types of waste used
🔸 Technology & methods – From larvae breeding to post-processing innovations
🔸 Products & pricing – Fresh vs. dried larvae? Frass? Local market opportunities
Plenty of time will be dedicated to an interactive discussion between the two companies and with the audience, exploring what’s working, what’s evolving, and what’s needed to strengthen BSF operations in different contexts.
