Public Consultation on Draft Minimum Requirements for E-Waste Compensation

The E-Waste Sub-Working Group of the PREVENT Waste Alliance is pleased to announce the publication of the draft Minimum Requirements for E-Waste Compensation. The document marks an important milestone: it represents the first unifying voluntary standard for the e-waste compensation sector, developed collaboratively to foster ethical, sustainable, and transparent practices across the industry.

By setting clear minimum requirements, the draft aims to strengthen credibility, accountability, and environmental integrity in e-waste compensation mechanisms.

Public consultation now open

The draft is now open for public consultation for a period of six weeks. We warmly invite all interested stakeholders, including businesses, recyclers, policymakers, civil society organisations, and researchers, to review the document and share their feedback.

Download the document here!

The consultation is open until Monday, March 30th, 23:59 CET.

How to submit your feedback

Comments can be submitted in one of the following ways:

  • By downloading the document and noting down proposed changes using track changes, or

  • In a separate document, clearly referencing the relevant page and/or section numbers.

And then, please send your feedback by email to: laura.vecoli@closingtheloop.eu

Broad stakeholder engagement is essential to ensure that the Minimum Requirements are practical, robust, and widely applicable. We strongly encourage you to contribute your expertise and help shape a credible and effective framework for responsible e-waste compensation.
