Challenges

  1. Increasing volumes of plastic and e-waste and lack of adequate waste management
  2. Lack of widespread upstream solutions to plastic pollution
  3. Lack of integrated digital solutions and data models across product lifecycle stages and value chains

Our Solution

Combining an innovation competition with business acceleration, the Innovate2PREVENT programme offers 15 innovators the opportunity to advance their circular solutions. Each innovator contributes to one of three tracks: (1) reuse, refurbishment or repair of electrical and electronic equipment, (2) upstream solutions in the plastics value chain, (3) integrated digital or data-driven circular economy solutions. The programme is implemented by Yunus Environment Hub and provides both non-financial and financial support. The non-financial support includes peer-to-peer learning, capacity building on innovative circular business models, and one-to-one coaching. Participants also receive networking and matchmaking support. Financial support includes seed funding of up to EUR 9000.
