PREVENT Working Groups Reuse & Social Inclusion | Exploring inclusive reuse in Ecuador – Waste pickers as key actors in an inclusive circular economy

We would like to invite you to our next public meeting of the PREVENT working groups Reuse and Social Inclusion, featuring a special input by International Alliance of Waste Pickers (IAWP) & GIZ on inclusive reuse in Ecuador.

IAWP’s newly launched case study “Exploring Inclusive Reuse in Ecuador” explores how reuse systems can not only reduce waste but also strengthen social inclusion and livelihoods. It highlights the important role waste pickers play in building an inclusive circular economy. Drawing on experiences from Quito, Cuenca, and Machala, the study shows how reuse systems can create jobs, reduce waste, and enable reuse-based livelihoods for waste pickers. It considers both the barriers and potentials for supporting a just transition for reuse.

Join us on 3rd of June at 4 pm CEST for an engaging discussion on circular economy approaches that combine environmental sustainability with social justice and economic inclusion!
