New Online Training Courses Support Action on the Global Plastics Treaty

As negotiations for a global treaty to end plastic pollution continue, translating international commitments into effective national action remains a key challenge.

To support policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders working on the ground, the GIZ project Go Circular has released new online training courses based on the Plastics Treaty Assist Toolkit (PTAT)!

Complete the training courses here.

Developed with support from PREVENT, the PTAT provides practical guidance, proven tools, and strategic insights to support the development and implementation of effective measures across the entire lifecycle of plastics.

An interactive exploration of the plastic treaty

The new training courses offers an interactive way to explore the six key topics covered in the toolkit:

  • Baselines and Monitoring
  • Problematic, Unnecessary and Avoidable Plastics
  • Substitutes and Alternatives
  • Plastics Waste Management
  • Financing
  • Just Transition

Each course takes approximately 25 minutes to complete and combines videos, audio content, and interactive exercises to support practical learning. Participants who complete a course will receive a certificate of completion.
