High Level Dialogue: Circularity for Scaling Climate Impact | On-site event
Production processes generate 45% of global GHG emissions. Circular Economy approaches, such as reuse, repair and circular product design can reduce these emissions by almost half while creating new, sustainable job opportunities and demand for green skills. Alternative organic waste management approaches address a key climate lever, as waste is the third largest methane emitter globally.
GIZ, on behalf of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Government of Germany, together with the Türkiye COP 31 Presidency and in collaboration with PREVENT is excited to invite interested parties to this high level dialogue event on-site in Bonn, Germany, on the sidelines of the UNFCCC SB 64 Climate Meetings. The event will highlight key results of the preceding Istanbul Zero Waste Forum as well as innovative private and public sector circular approaches and their climate impact.
The High-Level Roundtable discusses how climate frameworks can seize the circular potential and foster green skills, responding to case studies and setting the scene for COP 31 in Antalya.
