World Resources Forum 2021: A Green Deal for Sustainable Resources (Oct. 12-14)

The World Resources Forum (WRF) 2021, under the theme of ‘A Green Deal for Sustainable Resources’ will take place on October 12-14, with an innovative hybrid format (online | Switzerland | Ghana). In order to advance a global multi-stakeholder dialogue on global governance and management of natural resources, WRF is calling for wide participation from industry, policy, research, and civil society.

The World Resources Forum is an annual multi-stakeholder gathering to discuss latest issues and solutions related to the governance and management of natural resources. This year’s edition is co-hosted by the World Resources Forum Association (WRFA) and Ghana’s Ministry for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI). With the goal of advancing an inclusive dialogue on “A Green Deal for Sustainable Resources”, WRF 2021 will focus on three main topic streams:

  • Primary Resources: Fair resource extraction for a quality future
  • Secondary Resources: Turning waste into resources for development
  • Circular Economy: Designing circular systems for resources

The online conference program will consist of plenary discussions, scientific sessions and workshops to deep-dive into the most pressing challenges and innovative solutions related to the three topic streams. As in the tradition of the conference, WRFA invites organizations leading impactful work on the ground to get in touch and explore opportunities to contribute to the conference program, such as through the organization of a workshop or the submission of a scientific abstract.

Some of the central topics that will be discussed during the conference include: mineral resource governance, trade & finance, special waste streams (E.g. e-waste, ELVs, plastics), EPR, circular economy innovation, and circular economy in Africa.

For more updates about the full program and speakers, you are invited to keep an eye on the conference website, where all information will be published as they become available.

If you wish to explore opportunities for collaboration, please get in touch with Emanuele at emanuele.difrancesco@wrforum.org.

WRFA is looking forward to meeting you online to foster a much-needed open and inclusive debate!
