:metabolon – Bergischer Abfallwirtschaftsverband

Der Bergische Abfallwirtschaftsverband is a purpose-based association of districts in the Rheinisch-Bergisch and Oberbergisch region. As a corporation under public law, BAV’s main task is the disposal of waste in its territory. In conjunction with both districts, the BAV is also in charge of the project :metabolon. The :metabolon project was established as part of Regionale 2010, a structural development programme in North Rhine Westphalia. The future location integrates existing skills in the fields of resource preservation, innovative secondary raw material development and circular value creation. It develops these further and then reintroduces them. Various activities are implemented in order to promote knowledge exchange in developing and emerging countries.
