Franky’s Foundation

Franky's Foundation is a non-profit entity registered as a foundation in 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya. Its main purpose is to empower the youths and women in life skill development focusing on IT Hardware, women empowerment, and business development. It supports the vulnerable communities from the Slums and rural areas with opportunities to be future entrepreneurs through empowerment programs that will help them. This organisation was formed to offer an opportunity to young people and vulnerable women who could not access technology skills in Nairobi. Our empowerment program is a multi-dimensional process that enables the Kenya woman to realise her full potential, identity, and power in hands-on skills in repairing mobile phones and computers (laptops).

We researched about partners who can help us to achieve our e-waste program. We wanted to be a member so that we can share ideas with other partners engaged in waste management programs through learning and sharing ideas will make our organisation grow in Nairobi Kenya. We are involved in Reduce and Repair of mobile and laptops in Nairobi, we have an e-waste program at our workplace and we are raising awareness on e-waste with local communities. We want to learn from others and share our experiences with other members of the network through engaging and collaborating on ideas. We want also to train other members about repairs of mobile and laptops as part of sharing and learning experiences with each other.

We have a model of production and consumption, which involves repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. We do screen replacement, hardware installation, motherboard replacement and we also repair smartphones and laptops as we provide a service to local clients in Nairobi. We also train participants on mobile and laptop repairs to students and also raise awareness of the dangers of carbon emission to climate as part of our work in Kenya. We approach economic development to our clients, benefit businesses, society, and the environment.
