Online Training on E-Waste Plastics: Identification, Sorting, End of Life Management

Join the PREVENT Waste Alliance for an online training on managing batteries as part of sustainable e-waste management. The virtual format is designed for e-waste recyclers and other stakeholders interested to learn about the management of batteries.

PREVENT invites you to join an online training on 16 November 2021 from 13:00-16:00h CET on managing e-waste plastics as part of sustainable e-waste management. The training will be held by Mario Champagne who has conducted over 550 site audits in over 33 countries and has over 17 years experience in WEEE and batteries recycling services. Mario works as the Technical and Audit Manager for the European Recycling Platform, H2 Compliance, and Companies of the Landbell Group.

Target Group: E-waste recyclers and other stakeholders interested to learn about management of e-waste plastics. The training assumes limited prior knowledge, but will be technical in nature and aimed at stakeholders in low and middle income countries.

Content:  This training looks at the lifecycle of plastics arising from e-waste and will cover:

  • Types of plastics
  • Chemistries and Identification tips
  • Environment, Health & Safety aspects
  • Emergency situations management
  • Collection, Handling and Storage
  • Sorting
  • Management of sorted fractions:
    • Recycling
    • Elimination

Opportunities to clarify understanding and experiences will be given throughout.

This webinar is taking place as part of the PREVENT pilot project “Finding Solutions for Problematic E-Waste Fractions”, which is being implemented by Landbell Group in cooperation with the PREVENT E-Waste Working Group.
